Media URL Rules
Use public, direct media URLs. Avoid links that require login, preview pages, or expiring access.
Works well:
- Public CDN image URLs ending in
.jpg,.png,.gif, or.webp - Public CDN video URLs ending in
.mp4or.mov - Stable media hosted through Postyn Cloud or your own CDN
Avoid:
- Google Drive share pages
- Dropbox preview URLs
- iCloud or Google Photos links
- Expiring signed URLs
- Base64 image data
- Social media page URLs that are not direct media files
Validation States
Postyn should make each batch easy to review before scheduling:
- Ready: the row can be scheduled.
- Needs edit: required text, date, account, or media data is missing.
- Invalid media: the URL is not public or not a supported direct file.
- Account issue: the selected X/Twitter account is disconnected or unavailable.
- Limit warning: the post may exceed a platform constraint.
Fix validation issues before sending the batch into the queue.
Queue and Status Review
After scheduling, review:
- Scheduled posts
- Published posts
- Failed posts
- Drafts
- Recurring posts
- Account-specific queues
If a post fails, reconnect the account, fix the row, update the media, or reschedule the item.
Google Sheets Workflow
Many teams plan X/Twitter content in Google Sheets before importing it into Postyn.
Recommended process:
- Keep one row per post.
- Keep campaign labels in a separate column if your workflow supports it.
- Use ISO-style dates for reliable scheduling.
- Use direct media URLs only.
- Validate the batch in Postyn before scheduling.
This makes Google Sheets useful for campaign planning while Postyn handles scheduling, queue status, publishing safety, and analytics.
